Alan Caswell Collier was a prominent Canadian artist known for his expansive depictions of the Canadian landscape. Victor Cicansky

Victor Cicansky  is a mentor, educator, and sculptor. Cicansky was born in 1935 in Regina, Saskatchewan in a little neighborhood by the name of Garlic Flats, known for its vegetable gardens. His work is described as non-elitist with his sculptures themed around the harvest. Graduated with a B.Ed. 1964 at the University of Saskatchewan, a B.A in 1965 at the University of Regina and an MFA in 1970 at the University of California. He also studied at Haystack Mountain School of Art at Deere Isle Maine in 2007.  Cicansky finished his scholarly pursuit with an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the University of Regina in July of 2009. He has taught at the University of Regina for over 20 years, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, the University of California at Davis, and the Banff School of Fine Arts. Horace Champagne

Horace Champagne , a Montreal-born artist and grandson of noted historical artist Charles Ernest de Belle, trained in fine art, graphic art, and design at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal and the Ottawa School of Art. He also attended workshops in the United States with Charles Movalli in Massachusetts and Daniel Green in New York. After a successful career in commercial art and advertising, he devoted himself full-time to his art in 1980 at the age of 42, exhibiting across Canada. Champagne's love of the outdoors and fly fishing inspired many sketching trips to Northern Quebec, Ontario, the Rocky Mountains, Newfoundland, Europe, and the Northeastern United States. While he has worked with various media, he is best known for his dry pastel works, noted for their mastery of light and ability to capture the nuances of seasons, time, and mood. Joane Cardinal Schubert

Joane Cardinal-Schubert (1942-2009) was a renowned artist from Red Deer, Alberta, deeply influenced by her Kainai ancestry. Her vibrant, contemporary works, which included hand-tinted prints, paintings, drawings, and mixed media, often incorporated imagery reminiscent of ancient petroglyphs and addressed themes like indigenous sovereignty, cultural appropriation, and environmental issues. She studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Calgary, earning a BFA in 1977. Annora Brown

Mary Annora Brown was a Canadian artist from Fort MacLeod, Alberta. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and taught at Mount Royal College, the University of Alberta, and the Banff School of Fine Arts. Her work, focused on local wildflowers and plants, was influenced by her surroundings rather than the Group of Seven. She authored and illustrated "Old Man's Garden" and created 500 paintings for the Glenbow Foundation. Brown was the first female member of the Alberta Society of Artists and illustrated children's books, exhibiting her work with several prestigious art organizations.

David Bolduc

David Bolduc was a prominent Canadian artist born in Toronto. He briefly attended the Ontario College of Art and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School before working at the Royal Ontario Museum. A Canada Council grant in 1968 enabled him to travel extensively, which influenced his art. Initially known for shaped canvases with geometric designs, Bolduc transitioned in the 1970s to his signature style of abstract painting, featuring bold motifs drawn directly from the tube on colorful, textured backgrounds. His work was widely exhibited, including at the Hirschhorn Museum in Washington, DC, in the 1977 exhibition “14 Canadians: a Critic’s Choice.” Bolduc is recognized as a leading lyrical abstract painter in Canada, with works in several public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

David Blackwood

David Lloyd Blackwood was a celebrated Canadian artist from Wesleyville, Newfoundland, known for his etchings that depicted coastal life and Eastern Canadian tales. Influenced by his early experiences aboard his father's schooner, his work "The Lost Party," showcasing the 1914 Newfoundland Sealing Disaster, was displayed at the National Gallery of Canada when he was just 23. Blackwood held nearly a hundred solo exhibitions and taught for decades at Trinity College and the University of Toronto. In his final years, he created the "Images of Home" series from his hospital room, shifting from gothic etchings to vibrant watercolors, finding therapeutic solace in art.
