Jeff-de-Boer
Jeff de Boer, born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1963, is a renowned artist known for his innovative metalwork. Raised by a professional tin smith father, he was exposed to metal from a young age and began creating art early in life. After exploring painting and drawing, he developed a passion for metalworking during high school and crafted his first suit of armour. Jeff pursued formal education at the Alberta College of Art and Design, majoring in jewellery design and combining his skills to create the world’s first suit of armour for a mouse. Since establishing himself professionally in 1989, he has exhibited extensively, including a notable solo show titled "Articulation" and has continued to evolve his artistic practice in Calgary, where he now works alongside his wife Debbie. His work, including the mouse armour, has garnered international attention, recently featured in National Geographic in December 2022.
